Skechers Performance 2016 Footwear

Since 2014, I have been a Skechers Performance Brand Ambassador, so I’ve had a unique opportunity to see many of the new models of Skechers running footwear early into their production. Here are a few of the new Spring 2016 models that have been released.

GOrun Ride 5

The new version of the GOrun Ride is a pretty big move. The earlier versions were a bit too soft for me, but the 5 is a nice step up in stability and smoothness. Consider this a shoe for logging some easy miles.

GOrun 4 2016

I’m a big believer in the GOrun 4, and the 2016 update makes it even better. A new knit upper allows this shoe to really lock down on your foot and let you feel some speed when you want it and still cushioned enough to log some long runs. I use these shoes for most of my uptempo workouts.

GOmeb Speed 3 2016

The GOmeb is my all time favorite race flat, and the 2016 version got a similar update to the GOrun 4. A knit upper and updated midsole compound means these bad boys are ready to fly on race day. I got a pair of these at the Houston Marathon expo and couldn’t help but wear them in the Aramco Houston Half Marathon the next day. I had no soreness or problems running 13.1 miles in them out of the box.

GOtrail Ultra 3

I have been looking forward to an updated trail shoe from Skechers for a while. I was a big fan of the now-defunct GObionic Trail and found some hope in the GOrun Ultra and Ultra 2. The GOtrail Ultra 3 (the next move up from the GOrun Ultra 2 with a slightly different naming convention) has a more locked down fit compared to its predecessor which tended to feel a little unstable with its tall stack heights. The 3rd version also has a redesigned outsole with much more rubber to enhance traction and durability. This will be my go-to trail shoe for the year.
