You can ask the very handsome John Schrup – I’ve been looking forward to this one for months. Ever since Skechers Performance started the GOtrail line, I’ve been a fan. I liked what was being done with the Ultra models, but I enjoy the finesse allowed by a lower profile and lighter shoe, hence the perfect fit that came out of the GOtrail. I enjoyed a lot of success in the first model, including a marathon and double marathon win, another podium finish, and countless training miles. Now, the second generation is finally here!
Here’s what you can expect from the Skechers GOtrail 2:
Weight: 9.6 ounces in a Men’s size 9
Stack height: 28mm (heel) 24mm (toe)
Heel-to-toe drop: 4mm
This update is primarily to the upper of the shoe. The outsole and midsole have remained the same, maintaining the Dupont Hytrel rockplate in the forefoot and the 5GEN midsole found in most modern Skechers Performance kicks, including the GOmeb Speed 4.
The upper is all new, with a multilayered mesh construction that allows this shoe to be water and snow resistant. The semi-attached tongue gives a socklike fit that is extremely comfy and the lace eyelets are placed in a way that helps lock down the shoe for added performance feel. This new upper with added structure around the toes is sure to make this shoe far more durable than its predecessor.
